Crash Bandicoot

Zac, back at it again with the awesome tattoo ideas, this time a Crash Bandicoot themed one, (we had worked together before on his Rapture tattoo, now happily featured on the back of his thigh). 

 

Zac came to me with a few concept images of some ideas he'd found online wanting to expand on it more and add and change some of the icons. So we decided to start from scratch and picked 8 fresh icons to transform. 

 

We went with the crystal, the relic, the question crate, Aka Aka, the gem, the hoverboard, the TNT and Uka Uka. 

We kept the design as 2D and as simple as possible with easy to follow lines. We went through a few iterations for each of the icons  (which you can see examples of down below). I gave as many options as I could so that Zac could feel that he had total control over what was going on his body. I kept the options simple so that he could just pick a number or a letter and move on. He kept his choices very similar through the whole process, resulting in a cohesive design throughout. 
 

We both came a way from the project feeling pretty happy and satisfied. Zac plans to take this design on to his tattoo artist so I will hopefully be able to update this page soon with photos of the piece. 

Honestly this design process was so much fun and I feel like the process is something I'd like to repeat in the future.
